Reishi Mushroom Supplements
Reishi mushroom (Ganoderma lucidum) is the functional mushroom people choose for calm, stress balance and better sleep. Our Reishi capsules and powder use 100% fruiting body extract from Di Tao regions, hot-water extracted for its triterpenes and beta-glucans. It is the evening mushroom in most routines.
What is Reishi mushroom?
Reishi mushroom is a glossy, red-brown mushroom that grows on hardwood trees. In traditional Chinese wellness it is called lingzhi, and in India it is widely known as ganoderma. It has been valued for more than 2,000 years and is often called the mushroom of immortality.
Reishi is too hard and bitter to cook, so it has always been taken as a tea or extract. Its two main groups of compounds are triterpenes, which give it a bitter taste, and beta-glucans, which support immune balance. Reishi is also one of the best-known adaptogens, a term for herbs and fungi used to help the body cope with stress.

Reishi or Ashwagandha: which is better for stress?
Both are adaptogens, but they suit slightly different people. Ashwagandha is a root from Ayurveda that is often chosen for daytime stress and energy. Reishi mushroom is usually chosen for the evening, when the goal is to switch off and sleep better.
If you want both, our Calm tablets use KSM-66 Ashwagandha with Magnesium and L-Theanine, and they pair well with Reishi at night. Read about KSM-66 Ashwagandha on our ingredient page.
What does Reishi taste like?
Reishi is one of the most bitter mushrooms. That bitterness comes from its triterpenes, which is a good sign the extract is real. If you choose the powder, warm milk, cocoa, cinnamon or honey soften the taste. If you dislike bitter flavours, choose the capsules.
Who should take Reishi Mushroom Supplements?
Reishi mushroom supplements suits adults who feel constantly switched on. It is a good fit for:
- Professionals with long hours and racing thoughts at bedtime.
- Students during exam season.
- Parents juggling work and home.
- Adults over 40 looking for gentle long-term support.
If your main goal is focus rather than calm, Lion's Mane is a better fit. Many people take Lion's Mane in the morning and Reishi at night.
How do you take Reishi?
Take Reishi once a day, ideally in the evening, one to two hours before bed. You can take it with or without food. If you have a sensitive stomach, take it after dinner.
How long does Reishi take to work?
Some people feel calmer within two weeks. Most judge the full effect on stress and sleep after 8 to 12 weeks of daily use.
Can you take Reishi in the morning?
Yes, if that is easier for you. Reishi does not cause drowsiness in the way a sleeping pill does. Most people still prefer the evening because they want its calming effect at the end of the day.
What does a good evening routine with Reishi look like?
Take your Reishi after dinner, switch screens off 30 minutes before bed and keep the same sleep time every night. Reishi works best alongside basic sleep habits, not instead of them.
How do you choose a good Reishi mushroom supplement?
The quality of Reishi supplements varies a lot in India. Check these points before you buy any brand.
- Latin name. The label should say Ganoderma lucidum.
- Fruiting body. Many cheap products use mycelium grown on grain, which carries little of the triterpenes Reishi is known for.
- Extraction. Reishi must be extracted. Ground Reishi powder that is not extracted passes through the body mostly unused.
- Lab reports. Ask for heavy metal and microbial testing. Ours are on the certificates page.
Reishi mushroom Supplements prices in India range widely. A low price usually means mycelium, no extraction or a very small dose, so compare the amount of extract per serving rather than the pack price.
Is Reishi mushroom safe?
Reishi is well tolerated by most healthy adults at the label dose. The most common side effects are a dry mouth, mild stomach upset or loose stools in the first week.
Talk to your doctor before use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, take blood thinners, blood pressure or diabetes medicine, have a bleeding disorder, have a liver condition or have surgery planned within two weeks. Stop and seek advice if you notice unusual tiredness or yellowing of the skin. These products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.
