Frequently Asked Questions
It is a concentrated blend of green vegetables, grasses and algae, often with probiotics and digestive enzymes added.
No. It closes a gap in micronutrients but does not provide the fibre volume or satiety of whole vegetables.
Tablets are easier to keep up with and avoid the taste. Powder lets you control the dose and mix it into a smoothie.
Morning is most common, with or without food. There is no strict timing rule.
It can in the first week or two while gut bacteria adjust to the added fibre. Start with half a serving.
Super Greens Powder & Tablets
Greens powders are the most oversold category in wellness, so this page is going to be unusually blunt about what they are for. A super greens powder closes a micronutrient gap in thirty seconds; it does not replace vegetables, and no honest page will tell you otherwise.
They do not replace vegetables. What they do is close a micronutrient gap, in thirty seconds, for people whose diets have one. Whether that describes you decides whether this product is worth buying.
Who Actually Benefits From a Super Greens Powder
People eating two portions of vegetables a day or fewer. This is most people working long hours and eating out or ordering in. For this group, a greens product is genuinely useful.
People who travel constantly and have no control over what is available.
Shift workers eating at irregular hours.
People in a transition period, recovering from illness or rebuilding a routine.
Who benefits least: anyone already eating five or more portions of vegetables a day. If that is you, honestly, save your money and spend it on something more targeted from our functional mushroom or ayurvedic and herbal ranges.
Our Two Formats
Power Greens Powder
Power Greens powder combines 30+ organic greens with probiotics and digestive enzymes. One scoop into water, juice or a smoothie.
Powder gives you dose control, which matters here because you should start at half a serving. It also lets you stack it with a mushroom powder like Lion's Mane in the same drink.
Power Greens Tablets
Power Greens tablets deliver 27 nutrients from 22 greens and fruits, plus five digestive enzymes and one billion CFUs of probiotics. No mixing, no taste, no shaker to wash.
This is the format that survives real life. If you have abandoned a greens powder before because of the taste or the washing up, buy the tablets. A supplement taken daily in a format you tolerate beats a marginally better one you stop using.
What Is Actually In a Greens Blend
Greens products typically combine a few categories:
Grasses such as wheatgrass and barley grass, which carry chlorophyll and a range of micronutrients.
Algae such as spirulina and chlorella, which are unusually protein- and mineral-dense for a plant source.
Leafy vegetables such as spinach, kale and moringa, concentrated and dried.
Probiotics, live bacteria that support the gut microbiome.
Digestive enzymes such as amylase, protease and lipase, which help break down carbohydrate, protein and fat respectively.
The last two are what separate a modern greens product from a tub of dried grass. They also link this product to our gut health range.
Start Low
The most common complaint about greens powders is bloating in the first week, and it is almost always caused by jumping straight to a full serving.
You are adding fermentable fibre and live bacteria at once. Gut bacteria respond by fermenting it, and the by-product is gas. This settles, usually within one to two weeks.
Week 1: half a serving daily, with plenty of water.
Week 2: three-quarters.
Week 3 onwards: full serving.
If discomfort is significant rather than mild, or does not settle after two weeks, stop and speak to a doctor.
How to Mix It Without Clumps
Liquid in the shaker first, powder second. This one change solves most clumping.
Cool or room-temperature water. Hot water is unnecessary and worsens the taste.
Shake, wait ten seconds, shake again.
Add something with body if the taste bothers you: half a banana, a spoon of curd, or apple juice rather than plain water.
Rinse immediately. Dried greens powder is much harder to clean off later.
Taste, Honestly
It tastes green. Ours is more palatable than most, but nobody drinks a greens powder for enjoyment, and a page claiming otherwise is not being straight with you.
If that is a dealbreaker, the tablets exist for exactly this reason and deliver the same idea without the flavour.
What Else Matters More
Fibre from whole vegetables and legumes. Water. Sleep. A greens powder is insurance against a gap, not a replacement for a diet, and the people who benefit most from it are the ones who would benefit even more from eating better.
We would rather say that clearly than sell you a scoop as a substitute for a plate.
Why Rooted Actives
• 30+ organic greens, named individually rather than hidden in a blend
• Probiotics and enzymes included at meaningful amounts
• Third-party tested every batch, with certificates you can read
• Vegan, no fillers, no artificial sweeteners, no GMOs
Greens vs a Multivitamin
People often ask which to buy, and they are not the same thing.
A multivitamin provides isolated vitamins and minerals at defined amounts. It is precise, cheap, and easy to verify against a label.
A greens product provides whole-plant material, which carries the vitamins alongside polyphenols, chlorophyll and plant fibre that a multivitamin does not include. It is less precise: you cannot tell exactly how much vitamin C is in a scoop of concentrated spinach.
Neither is strictly better. A multivitamin is the more reliable way to hit a specific nutrient target. A greens product is the closer approximation of eating plants.
If you are choosing one and your diet is low in vegetables specifically, greens make more sense. If you have a known deficiency, a targeted supplement and a blood test make more sense than either.
Storage
Keep the powder sealed, cool and dry with a dry scoop. Greens powders clump badly once humidity gets into the container, and the probiotics in them are living organisms, so heat and moisture shorten their useful life. Do not refrigerate; condensation on opening causes more harm than a stable warm shelf.
Whichever format you choose, give it eight weeks of daily use before deciding. A greens product taken three times a week is not being tested; it is being sampled.
The uncomfortable truth about this category is that a super greens powder is most valuable to the people with the worst diets and least valuable to those already eating well, which is roughly the reverse of who usually buys it.

If the taste of a super greens powder is what stops you, switch to the tablets rather than abandoning the habit; a format you tolerate taken daily beats a better one left in the cupboard.
