Frequently Asked Questions
Lion's Mane and Chaga mix best into coffee. Lion's Mane adds focus support and Chaga adds antioxidants, and neither changes the taste much.
Yes. Lion's Mane with Cordyceps is a common morning pair. Add one at a time first so you know how each one feels.
Our powders are already hot-water extracted, so warm drinks are fine. Just avoid pouring boiling water directly onto the powder.
No. Dried mushroom is simply ground. An extract powder is concentrated so you get more of the active compounds in a small serving.
Keep the jar tightly closed in a cool, dry place and always use a dry spoon. Moisture makes the powder clump.
Mushroom Powder
Mushroom powder is a concentrated extract you can stir into coffee, chai, smoothies or a protein shake. Our mushroom extract powders are made from 100% fruiting bodies and hot-water extracted, so you get the active compounds, not just dried mushroom. Choose Lion's Mane for focus, Cordyceps for stamina or Reishi for calm.
What is mushroom extract powder?
Mushroom extract powder is made by simmering a functional mushroom in hot water, concentrating the liquid and drying it into a fine powder. This process releases beta-glucans and other compounds that stay locked inside a raw mushroom.
It is different from the culinary powder you might add to soups. A kitchen version is simply dried and ground, while an extract powder is concentrated for its active compounds. Read more in our post on mushroom extract powders.
Every product in this collection uses the fruiting body only, grown in Di Tao regions and tested in the lab.
Why choose a mushroom powder instead of capsules?
Choose a powder if you already drink something every morning and want to add your mushrooms to it. There are three practical benefits.
- Flexible dose. You can start with half a serving and build up.
- Easy stacking. One cup of coffee can carry Lion's Mane and Cordyceps together.
- No pills. Good for anyone who finds capsules hard to swallow.
If you would rather skip mixing altogether, the same extracts come in our mushroom capsules collection.
Which mushroom powder should you choose?
Pick the powder that matches your main goal. The table shows what each one is usually taken for and how it tastes in a drink.
- Lion's Mane. Main reason people take it: Focus and memory. Taste: Mild, slightly earthy. Best mixed into: Coffee, smoothie.
- Cordyceps. Main reason people take it: Stamina and workouts. Taste: Mild, nutty. Best mixed into: Pre-workout drink, coffee.
- Reishi. Main reason people take it: Calm and sleep quality. Taste: Bitter. Best mixed into: Evening hot chocolate, haldi doodh.
- Chaga. Main reason people take it: Antioxidant support. Taste: Earthy, vanilla-like. Best mixed into: Coffee, chai.
- Turkey Tail. Main reason people take it: Gut and immune balance. Taste: Mild. Best mixed into: Smoothie, warm water.
- Shiitake. Main reason people take it: Immunity and minerals. Taste: Savoury. Best mixed into: Soup, warm water.
- Tremella. Main reason people take it: Skin hydration. Taste: Almost neutral. Best mixed into: Smoothie, tea.
- 7-Mushroom Complex. Main reason people take it: All-round daily support. Taste: Mild, earthy. Best mixed into: Coffee, chai, smoothie.
Mushroom powder for focus
Lion's Mane powder is our most popular pick for coffee. It dissolves well and has a gentle taste that disappears in a latte.
Mushroom powder for stamina
Cordyceps powder uses Cordyceps militaris and contains no caffeine. Many people add it to a pre-workout drink with beetroot powder.
Mushroom powder for calm
Reishi mushroom powder is bitter, so most people mix it into a warm evening drink with a little honey or cocoa.
Mushroom powder for immunity and gut
Turkey Tail powder, Chaga powder and Shiitake powder are rich in beta-glucans and polysaccharides. For targeted immune support, see AHCC powder and agaricus blazei powder.
For skin
Tremella powder is almost tasteless, which makes it the easiest one to add to a smoothie or tea.
One scoop for everything
7 mushroom complex powder combines seven mushrooms in one scoop if you do not want to choose.
How do you use mushroom powder?
Stir one serving, usually about half a teaspoon, into a warm or cold drink once a day. Always follow the serving size on the pack.
Simple ways to add it to your day
- Morning coffee: Mix Lion's Mane or Chaga into black coffee or a latte.
- Chai: Add Chaga or the 7-mushroom complex after the chai is brewed.
- Smoothie: Blend Tremella or Turkey Tail with banana, curd and oats.
- Pre-workout: Shake Cordyceps with water and beetroot powder 30 minutes before training.
- Bedtime drink: Stir Reishi into warm milk with haldi.
Avoid adding the powder to boiling water. Let your drink cool for a minute first.
A simple recipe: Lion's Mane cold coffee
Add one serving of Lion's Mane powder and one teaspoon of instant coffee to a glass. Pour in two tablespoons of warm water and stir until both dissolve. Fill the glass with chilled milk, add ice and a little jaggery or honey if you like, and stir again. It tastes like a normal cold coffee, and the mushroom is barely noticeable.
How do you hide the taste?
Most extracts taste mildly earthy. Coffee, cocoa and chai cover that taste best. Bitter mushrooms like Reishi go well with warm milk, cinnamon and a little honey. If you still notice the taste, start with half a serving for the first week and increase slowly.
Who should choose capsules instead?
If you do not have a daily drink habit, or you travel a lot, capsules will be easier to stick with. The extract is the same, only the format changes.
How long does mushroom powder take to work?
Some people notice a difference in two to three weeks. Give it 8 to 12 weeks of daily use for a fair result.
What serving size is right for you?
The serving on the pack is the amount most adults take once a day. There are three common situations where people adjust it:
- New to mushrooms: Start with half a serving for the first week, then move to the full serving.
- Sensitive stomach: Take it with food rather than on an empty stomach.
- Two mushrooms in one drink: Keep each one at its own label serving. Do not double either one.
More is not better with functional mushrooms. A steady daily dose for two to three months does more than a large dose for a few days. If you are unsure, our team can help you plan a routine through the WhatsApp button on this page.
How do you choose a good mushroom powder?
A good extract lists the mushroom's Latin name, says fruiting body, names the extraction method and shares a lab report. If a label only says "mushroom blend" with no details, look elsewhere. Our reports are on the certificates page.
Is mushroom powder safe?
These powders are safe for most healthy adults at the label dose. Start with half a serving if you have a sensitive stomach.
